A Twitterrific theme for Bluebird, a new Twitter app for Mac.

Posted last year in Everything else

It's safe to say that I'm a Twitter addict. I've been around the Twittersphere for a little over a year now.

Throughout that time, I've been almost exclusively a Twitterrific user (or Tweetie on the iPhone). The interface is a superb minimalistic design. It's straightforward, out-of-the-way, and works flawlessly.

A few days ago, however, a new Twitter app, called Bluebird silently entered the crowded "Mac Twitter Client" market.

It's a beta release for now, but works quite well. So well, in fact, that it has replaced Twitterrific as my everyday client.

Things I love about Bluebird that Twitterrific simply doesn't have:

  • Searching
  • Tabs for replies, my own tweets, friends-only, and favorites
  • Section for DMs
  • Multiple account support
  • Themeable with HTML + CSS

The last item is why I'm writing this post. While I love Bluebird's functionality, I am simply too used to Twitterrific's theme to switch to something different. Since Bluebird makes it rediculously easy to write your own theme, I cloned Twitterrific's theme.

You can checkout a screenshot of the theme here.

To install, simply download the theme here, and open the Twitterrific.bbtheme file. Bluebird should install the theme automatically. Then, simply switch to the new theme in the Bluebird theme preferences.

Hey, thanks for the tip! ...and thanks for the theme!

Awesome app, thanks for the heads up. Mac developers are getting better and better each year.
